The Brewery

Welcome to The Brewery, the living brew board for Make Beer Easy.

This is where I keep track of what’s brewing, fermenting, cold crashing, on tap, and coming soon.

Some batches turn out awesome.

Some go sideways.

Some turn into full-blown disasters.

Either way, we’re going to follow the process.

June 2, 2026 Brewery Update

Here’s what’s happening right now at Make Beer Easy.

On Tap Now 🍺

Thomas Coopers Innkeeper’s Daughter Sparkling Ale

Status: On tap
Batch Size: 5 gallons
Style: Sparkling Ale / Pale Ale
Current Stage: Drinking

This beer fought me every step of the way.

We had expired yeast, stalled fermentation, flat beer, and even a leaking regulator. But somehow, we managed to save the bad boy and get it on tap.

It’s been a good reminder that most brewing problems can be fixed if you know what to do.

Watch the series:

Cold Crashing / Conditioning ❄️

1) Prison Hooch

Status: Cold crashing
Batch Size: 1 gallon
Style: Prison Wine / Hooch Experiment
Current Stage: Cold crashing in the kegerator
Next Step: Taste test this weekend

This is part of the prison wine experiment series.

It’s weird, questionable, and probably exactly the kind of thing we should be taste testing on camera.

Watch the series:

2) Prison Merlot

Status: Cold crashing
Batch Size: 1 gallon
Style: Prison Wine / Merlot Experiment
Current Stage: Cold crashing in the kegerator
Next Step: Taste test this weekend

The slightly classier cousin of the prison hooch.

Maybe it’ll taste like wine.

Maybe it’ll taste like bad decisions.

We’ll find out soon.

Watch the series:

Fermenting Now 🫧

1) Craft A Brew Mead Kit

Status: Fermenting
Batch Size: 1 gallon
Style: Mead / Honey Wine
Current Stage: Primary fermentation
Next Step: Let it finish, clear, and condition before tasting

This is a 1 gallon mead kit from Craft A Brew.

Mead sounds simple, but patience is a huge part of the process. We’ll see how this one develops.

Watch the series:

2) Mud Monster IPA

Status: Fermenting
Batch Size: 1 gallon
Style: Brewer’s Best Partial Mash IPA
Current Stage: Primary fermentation
Next Step: Let fermentation finish, then decide if this muddy little creature can be saved

This is a 1 gallon Brewer’s Best partial mash IPA kit.

Right now, it looks like mud water, so we’re calling it the Mud Monster IPA.

Maybe it clears up.

Maybe it stays ugly.

Either way, we’re letting that bad boy ride.

Wacky Wednesday Ideas 🧪🍻

These are the weird beer experiments coming down the road.

Back when I owned my brew pub, we used to do Wacky Wednesdays, where we brewed one keg of something crazy.

Now we’re bringing that idea back with small batch 1-gallon BIAB brewing.

Possible Future Experiments:

  • Fruity Pebbles Beer
  • Sour Patch Kids Beer
  • Mountain Dew Seltzer
  • Weird one gallon BIAB beers
  • Strange beer cocktails
  • Other questionable ideas
