It is made using water, hops, yeast, rice, and barley and is considered a refreshing beer with a light body. Taste-wise it has a light sweetness from the malt, as well as a very subtle hop flavor with a crip and dry finish.

Like most beers on the market, it is made using crushed malted barley. After the grain is crushed it is then soaked in warm water which allows the sugars from the grain to be released. These sugars are what contain the gluten. The sugar water is then boiled and hops and yeast are added, the mixture is then allowed to ferment. The yeast and hops are gluten-free, the malt is not.
Wheat is also an ingredient that is commonly used in beer, particularly wheat beers like hefeweizen, and also is very high in gluten. Wheat is not one of the ingredients of Bud Light.
Many people believe that light beer like Bud Light are gluten-free, which is not true. It is made with the same ingredients as regular beer. They are considered light as they have a lower alcohol by volume (ABV) and fewer calories which is accomplished by not using as much malt, a nd in some cases watering the beer down.
As a result, Bud Light does contain less gluten than regular beers. The FDA reports that any beer that contains less than 20 parts per million (ppm) of gluten can be considered gluten-free. There are reports that Bud Light may contain as little as 5 ppm.
